We are a Commonwealth funded Multifunctional Aboriginal Children's Service (MACS) and implement the Priority of Access Guidelines in filling vacancies. We have two child care rooms:

  • The Minya Yurro's Room
    (from 6 months - 2½ years)
  • The Minya Kati's Room
    (from 2½ - 5 years)

What your child needs to bring

  • A spare set of labelled clothes (clothes should be sleeved top, comfortable and suitable for messy play activities) and a suitable Sunsmart hat
  • A bag to hold belongings in
  • A comforter (e.g. a dummy, a favourite soft toy, a cuddly pillow or favourite blanket)
  • Prepared bottles, formula, child's familiar training cup (no juice, soft drink, cordial or flavoured milk allowed)(all labelled)
  • Covered shoes
  • If being toilet trained a sufficient amount of pull-ups and spare underwear must be provided
  • Disposable nappies (minimum of 4 per child per day) if a baby or toddler

Child Care Fees

  • We offer low, flat rate, affordable fees
  • Parents/carers are invoiced fortnightly
  • Fees are charged for your child's booked places and not attendance
  • Child Care Benefit Rebate does not apply to this centre

The Minya Yurro's Room (Little Skinks)

6 Months - 2½ Years

In this room two committed early childhood professionals provide:

  • nurture, support and comfort for individual children
  • A warm secure and homelike environment
  • An environment inclusive of diverse indigenous cultures
  • Relationship based experiences and interactions to promote secure attachments
  • High quality programs that meet the developmental needs and interests of individual children
  • Regular communication between staff and parents/carers/families

The Minya Kati's Room (Little Crabs)

2½ Years - 5 Years

In this room two committed early childhood professionals and DECS teacher provide:

  • Programs facilitating children's cultural, physical, social and language development
  • An environment where children feel comfortable, protected, respected and valued as individuals
  • Enriching and fun experiences/activities
  • Regular excursions
  • Opportunities for cultural self-expression through "Palti Time" ("Palti" is Kuarna meaning to "sing, dance and come together")

Services We Offer

Bus Service

We provide a courtesy bus service with an Accredited Bus Driving Professional for families who do not have access to transport. Children are collected from home and returned safely at the end of the day. There are supervising staff on the bus each day.

Meals

Our cook provides nutritous, healthy, well balanced meals daily. We ensure we provide your child's required daily intake (RDI) while in our care. We offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.

We are a "Start Right, Eat Right" Accredited Centre

We are the first indigeneous centre to become accredited. We set a very high standard of health, nutrition, food safety, food handling and promotion of healthy eating in out programs.

We are an Accredited Sunsmart Centre

We have a year round Sunsmart Policy and parents must provide a suitable hat for your child for outdoor play.

We follow the Early Years Learning Framework up to date programming and deveolpment pathways.
